General:
Red Pencil Editing Services, LLC (RPES) provides proofreading, copy editing and other editing services for its clients.  RPES reserves the right to refuse dcuments presented for editing that fail to fall within our guidelines for submission except where noted in the guidelines that accompany each service description. We do not accept bound documents or documents formatted other than double-spaced with the exception of proofreading or copy editing galleys, blue lines, printer's proofs or other similar pre-production materials.  We also will not edit documents (manuscripts) in hard copy presented for manual editing that are not double-spaced with one-inch margins. Such documents received will be returned to the client. Deposits for our services are non-refundable.  All prices (including discounts and special offers) are subject to change at the company's discretion.

Copyright/Plagiarism:
RPES neither endorses nor encourages copyright violations or plagiarism. In the event that your work contains citations, attributions, quotations or other similar referencing, we will research the possible correct sources indicating either the best primary source or most-recent source (depending upon the nature of the document). However, the client is responsible for ensuring that such information is correct and correctly cited or attributed to its orignator in the final copy that gets presented for publication. In the event that we do not see appropriate references (where necessary) we will alert the client about the omission and will make suggestions for corrections or point the client to the possible proper sources for correct attribution. Even so, it is again the client's ultimate responsibility to make sure that all references and citations are listed and correctly attributed.  In the event that documents presented to us for editing seems like it is an already published work (in printed or electronic media) that is not of the client's manufacture, we reserve the right to not take on the project. RPES does not condone or endorse any kind of content scraping, splogging or other behavior that appears to violate the copyright or creative intellectual property of another.

Students/Academic Honesty:
In the cases of working with students, we do not guarantee or endorse any specific grades based upon our work. We do however believe that with our services you may eliminate mistakes that could detract from a potentially good grade. RPES is committed to academic honesty and standards of excellence. To that extent, we do not provide content for students at anyl level (including graduate students). We will proofread work and where there is unclear content, offer suggestions with copious commentary. 

Agents, Publishers, and Others:
RPES neither works with specific agents or publishers nor do we endorse any specific agents or publishers regardless of any personal or professional relationships that writers and editor who work with Red Pencil Editing Services may have in relation to their own writing or editing careers.
