Pencil Editing Services provides:
- Developmental Editing/Consulting:
This
service consists of helping you flesh out your manuscript and
breathe life into it. Together, we will develop a manuscript and ensure
that the completed work meets the requirements of the publication or
institution to which you are submitting it. Developmental editing may
also include research and fact checking, if necessary. We can also help
you develop the content for your Web site, brochures and other printed
materials. We work with you from the ground up and with any other
professionals (such as Web designers) that you are working with to
ensure that your content is clear, clean and concise. Developmental
Editing services are for clients who have an outline or a loose draft
and need help making thier prose come to life. Consulting consulting
services are best for clients who have an idea and need help making
thier project take shape and aren't quite sure where or how to begin.
Either way, we will hold your hand and have your back every step of the
way.
Developmental
Editing is $75 per hour.
Consulting
Services are $110 per hour or fraction thereof.
- Express
Editing:
You
need it when? You need it now.
We
understand deadlines and urgency and can work fast to help you meet
yours. Express editing is only available for our Basic Services and are
based on a 24- to 48-hour turn around time. Express Editing services
are ideal for clients who have time-sensitive requirements and need
only proofreading or copy editing. Express
Editing rates are the service price + 50%. (See

- Ghost Writing: Need
a behind-the-scenes wordsmith? Our ghost writing services are designed
for clients who know what they want to say, but need it done for them.
Ghost writing is not available to students at any academic level,
because at Red Pencil Editing Services, we value and honor academic
honesty. Depending upon the nature of your project we will
ghost write
without a by-line or with a co-authored by-line. Please note, after
your team wordsmith has ghost written your project, a separte wordsmith
not associated with the development or writing will proofread it,
because even editors need editors. Why? Because at some point, we are
all too close to our work to be entirely objective.
Ghost
Writing
services start at $90 per hour and are based upon the anticipated final
length of work and other considerations. (See rates page for full

- Site Visits: Site
visits are for business clients in the Metro Detroit area who need.
Site visits need to be booked in advance. The fee for site visits is
$75 per hour or fraction thereof.
